APTA 2025 Nominating Committee Selects Leadership Executives

APTA’s 2025 Nominating Committee met in Chicago, IL, July 23, to select the members of the association’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
Leanne Redden, executive director, Chicago Regional Transportation Authority, will assume the position of APTA chair for 2025-2026. Joel B. Young, board member, AC Transit, Oakland, CA, was selected as vice chair. Jannet Walker-Ford, business line executive, advisory and planning, WSP USA, will serve as secretary-treasurer for 2025-2028. MJ Maynard-Carey, CEO, Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada, Las Vegas, will serve as APTA immediate past chair.
APTA members will vote on the 2025-2026 slate of nominees Sept. 13 during the Annual Meeting of the Members, held immediately after the board of directors meeting during APTA’s TRANSform Conference in Boston, MA.
Nominated for three-year terms as members of the 25-member APTA Executive Committee include:
- Ken McDonald, president and CEO, Long Beach Transit, CA, to serve as At Large Member
- Peter Rogoff, principal and managing partner, The Contorta Group, to serve as At Large Business Member
- Patricia Sams, board member, Jacksonville Transportation Authority, FL, to serve as At Large Transit Board Member
- Veronica Vanterpool, Senior Vice President, Americas Transit Lead, AECOM, to serve as Top 10 Dues Paying Business Member Representative
The following individual will fill a three-year term portfolio seat on the Executive Committee:
- Paul Smedberg, board member, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, Washington, DC, to serve as Transit Board Members Committee Representative
