The Council of University Transportation Centers (CUTC) held its annual Winter Membership Meeting and Awards Banquet in Washington, DC, Jan. 4-5. APTA sponsored the Workforce Development Leadership Award. Dorval R. Carter Jr., president, Chicago Transit Authority and APTA past chair, won the Lifetime Achievement Award for Transportation Professionals and Public Service.

The Awards Banquet celebrates the benefits of federal investment in university transportation research—specifically, outstanding students and faculty who contribute to transportation research and education through the program.

The Workforce Development Leadership Award was presented to Prairie View A&M University, TX, and was accepted by Dr. Judy Perkins, director, National Center for Infrastructure Transformation.

Also at the Awards Banquet, Jan. 4, APTA renewed its MOU with CUTC, reinforcing the long-standing partnership and complementary visions in support of the public transportation industry.
