The Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (Cincinnati Metro) has named Andy Aiello as its next chief executive officer, effective June 1 following the retirement of current CEO Darryl Haley. Aiello currently serves as deputy general manager.
Aiello joined Metro in 2022 as chief of staff, bringing a wealth of public transit experience, including serving for 12 years as general manager of the Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky. His career also includes roles with the Atlanta Regional Commission and Georgia DOT.
Haley has served as CEO since 2019 and led the agency through a period of significant transformation, including successful passage of the Issue 7 ballot initiative and implementation of the first three phases of the Reinventing Metro Service Improvement Plan.
For APTA, Aiello is a member of the Public Transportation CEO Coordinating Council and serves on the Bus & Paratransit CEOs, Bus Operations, Mid-Size Operations, and Legislative committees.
