Linda C. Ford, former general counsel at APTA, died Nov. 28 in Washington, DC, at the age of 57. Ford came to APTA in 2017 and served as its general counsel for nearly eight years.
Ford began her career in 1995 as an environmental attorney for the Indiana state government. In 2001, she took a senior attorney-advisor position with USDOT, followed by five years of serving as FTA assistant chief counsel for legislation and regulations. She also led FTA’s office of civil rights for six years. She left APTA in August of this year to work alongside her husband, Deon, at his Washington, DC, consulting firm.
APTA President and CEO Paul P. Skoutelas said, “We are heartbroken by the sudden loss of our dear friend and colleague Linda Ford. Linda was the consummate professional, whose work at APTA reflected her deep commitment to our industry. Our condolences go out to her husband and family.”
