Review, Comment on APTA Standards

The APTA Standards Program has advanced 11 new documents for public review and commenting and APTA is seeking feedback from all executive-level industry stakeholders to help shape the language in the documents.
The public comment period is an essential component of APTA’s consensus-based standards development process.
The current documents address the following topics:
Operating Practices
- Rulebook Development and Review
- Rail Transit Accident/Incident Notification and Investigation Requirements
- Operations Control Centers
- Operations Personnel Requirements in New Rail Transit Projects
- Fatigue Management Program Requirements
Rail Grade Crossing
- Highway/Rail Transit Grade Crossing Warning Device Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance
Signals & Communication
- Train-to-Wayside Communication System Inspection and Testing
- Wayside Intrusion Detection System Inspection and Testing
- Radio Communication System Inspection and Testing
Security & Emergency Management
- Suspension of Service of a Public Transportation System and Recovery
Urban Development
- Transit Climate Resilience Guidelines
